Thursday, Dec. 9 Assignment

 

On a totally unrelated note, your assignment for today is to write thoughtful comments on AT LEAST 10 different classmates' blogs.  By thoughtful, I mean that you must interact with what was said and either agree or disagree - providing the reasons why you do or don't agree.  This also means that your comments should be at least a short paragraph. 

Write down on a sheet of paper the 10 (or more) classmates that you commented on, and turn it in tomorrow for a grade.  Get er done!!!!

Assignments #8 & #9

Hola, pupils.  Here are your next two assignments: Due Wednesday.

Assignment #8: Write a response to the "Grilled Cheesus" episode of Glee that we watched in class.  Pay special attention to the worldview of the writers.  What do they think of your faith?  Are they portraying it in an accurate or inaccurate manner?  What parts are accurate and what parts are inaccurate?

Assignment #9: Read the article posted below and respond with your (intelligent) thoughts.

Here's the deal.  I saw this on ABC News and want you guys to take this online quiz.  The news gave the average score of atheist/agnostics, protestants, and Catholics.  I'm curious to see what the average of Bible class students would be to see if we are above or below the national average.

Your instructions are to take the quiz and then email your score to jmendenhall@oklahomabible.com.  Your score will be totally confidential (I won't think you're stupid if you don't perform well), and if I get the email from you by Tuesday, November 16th, you will receive 10 bonus points on any assignment.  Please help me out!!

Happy Halloween!! (a few days late)

I think we've all heard Christians pontificate on how we should engage Halloween as believers in Jesus.  Here is a great article on that very topic...http://www.relevantmagazine.com/life/current-events/features/23301-is-halloween-good-or-evil

Your assignment, should you choose to accept it (and you should unless you want a 0), is to read this article and write a blog detailing your thoughts on Halloween.  To ensure that you have read the article, you need to quote parts of it that you agree or disagree with in your blog.

Assignment #5 will be about ANY of the topics Andy Braner discussed this week...Believe, Behave, Belong.  You can write mainly on one topic, or give an overview of the whole week in chapel and/or class. You can also add some personal experience into your blog if you would like (i.e. give examples of your own life and some of the biblical truths Andy hit on).

***REMEMBER*** this will be a test grade.  Your normal length of blog will not suffice.  Your normal effort in blogging will not suffice.  Put the effort in!
